Unofficial fan guide
Pokémon Hyper Emerald: Lost Artifacts v5.7
Two regions, sixteen gyms, every Pokémon through Generation 8, and an English + quality-of-life patch to play it all with. This guide covers installing the patch, every added feature, and a walkthrough from Littleroot Town to the end of the post-game.
What is Hyper Emerald?
Hyper Emerald: Lost Artifacts (究极绿宝石) is a Chinese ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald by Destvol, Satochu, Popy, Potato, Hurricane, Feiyixiang and others. On top of the Hoenn story it adds the whole Sinnoh region as post-game, a third "league" of challenges, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves and Dynamax/Gigantamax, all species up to Sword and Shield with their Gen 8 moves and abilities, a trainer-level system, over a hundred side quests, and a hard mode. The 32 MB ROM is twice the size of the original game.
The earlier English translation and its bug fixes are the work of Luciano Fire, Helper, Gustavo Neves and Li Yun; this build continues from there. The English + QoL patch finishes the English translation (about 6,000 strings that the community translation had left in Chinese) and adds modern conveniences: bag sorting, 999-item stacks, four registered key items, one-button ball throws, auto-run, a one-button repel, an in-party move relearner and coloured stat names. Existing saves keep working.

How this guide was made
The reference pages are generated from the patched ROM: wild encounter tables, trainer parties, map names and item lists are read from the game's own data tables, so they match what you meet in play. The walkthrough and quest pages are written from the game's dialogue and from community playthroughs; where a step could not be verified in v5.7 it is marked. Corrections are welcome on the repository.
The walkthrough pages describe the story as it happens. The reference pages (trainers, locations, legendaries, items) list post-game content without warning. If you want to go in blind, stick to the Hoenn walkthrough until you are Champion.
